the use of statistics

After a brief moment of worry despite all rationality (no one knows who I am), I pull my wits together and do an analysis. Against the hypothesis that section (summer A or summer B) and class type (calculus or no-calculus) are chosen independently, this seemingly depressing statistic only has significance at level 0.27!
